Sinwa’s sustainability programme is built around practical action and continuous innovation across our maritime operations. These initiatives reflect our commitment to reducing environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, and supporting a cleaner, future-ready maritime supply ecosystem.
Our Singapore solar installation is a key pillar of our transition toward cleaner energy across our maritime operations. A total of 1400 solar modules are installed across the rooftops of our Singapore branch buildings, delivering a string capacity of 547.53 kWp and generating an average of at least 90,000 kWh of solar energy every month. This renewable energy supports our operational footprint and demonstrates our shift toward more resilient, low-carbon power sources.
We also supplement this effort by using additional solar-generated electricity from the grid.
Our Henderson branch incorporates approximately 380 solar panels supported by 20.0 M grid-connected inverters, monitored through Solar Web and smartphone capabilities for real-time insights. This installation is designed to achieve around 165,000 kWh of energy per year. It strengthens our commitment to cleaner energy adoption across key maritime locations.
As part of our efforts to decarbonise daily operations, we began integrating electric vehicles into our internal fleet in 2023. Our Singapore branch currently operates three EV trucks, supporting cleaner logistics and reducing emissions across our supply routes.
Sinwa received the Low Carbon 50 Honourable Mention Award, a recognition of our leadership in carbon accounting and emissions management within the maritime sector. This acknowledgement reflects our proactive use of the Carbon Emissions Recording Tool, our transparent carbon reporting practices, and our voluntary alignment with UN Global Compact guidelines. It marks an important milestone in our ongoing journey toward maritime decarbonisation.
Our sustainability range offers practical, low impact alternatives designed to support responsible operations across the maritime supply chain. These solutions complement our initiatives, providing customers with environmentally conscious product options.
We carry four models of KENT water purification systems as an alternative to bottled water consumption in maritime and onshore environments. These systems support reduced plastic usage while providing reliable, high quality water purification.
As part of our partnership with the IMPA SAVE movement, we stock IMPA SAVE Water in Tetra Pak format. This offers a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic bottles onboard vessels and across maritime operations.
Available on a pre-order basis, the DT 500 double shaft single motor shredder supports material reduction for wood, paper, cartons, plastics, rubber, nylon, textiles, soft metals, and composites up to 5 mm. It forms part of our sustainability range by enabling more efficient waste handling and recycling practices in maritime and industrial settings.
