Mr Chua was appointed as an Independent Director of the Group on 31 July 2008. He was later appointed as a member of both the Audit and Nominating Commettee on 27 February 2009.

Mr Chua is currently the Managing Director of Nippon Paint Marine (Singapore) Pte Ltd and is responsible for its profitability and all other business matters in South East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines), South Asia (South China, Hong Kong, Indo-China), India and the Middle East. He reports directly to the President of the ultimate holding company in Japan.

In his more than 40 years career in coatings and the marine industry, he was involved in starting up businesses, global business development, product, technical and service development; and strategic planning.
